Star Trek: Lower Decks is everything I had hoped it would be! The show is funny, beautifully canon, and full of adventures within the lower ranks of Star Fleet. I refuse to give any negative words about this show any time of day because for once, Star Trek i leaning into it’s fun side.
The humour has always been present in the show but it is great to see a series finally grip it with both hands and produce something that is entertaining and fun. I would recommend that even the most die hard and anti-cartoon Star Trek fans watch at least one episode of this show. Give it a go!
It’s been a while since I’ve been able to post an Anticipated Arrival Rundowns, but I’ve finally gotten around to watching and playing the below items. So check out the below things that I have previously anticipated arriving!
I have finally gotten around to watching this movie.
I say finally because not only did I miss it at the cinemas, but I have had this DVD checked out at the library for over four months. Terrible, I know! Over the end of the year break, I finally forced myself to sit down watch this movie.
It was okay. Not going to lie, I was expecting more chemistry between Hemsworth and Thompson, if only because they were great together in Thor: Ragnarok. But other than that it was a decent film and scored extra points simply because Emma Thompson was in it.
And yes, in reference to my original post, Tessa Thompson in a suit was everything I dreamed 🥰
As always I am still at work, sometimes working with the public can be quite trying and reopening with strict safety guidelines has been especially trying. Please everyone, if there are entry requirements, don’t argue with the person enforcing them at the door; if they are the ones on the front line they did not have anything to do with making the rules.
So I hope everyone is staying safe and staying sane 😋
While I am not going the full slog of removing all of my plastic use, I have made a few changes and am trying to cut down on how much plastic I use. These changes have seen me start to use a shampoo bar which means I have not purchased any new shampoo bottles. I now have a bamboo toothbrush that after I have used it can recycle. I have also started to use a solid moisturiser.
All of these things have been surprising as I am enjoying them so much. The shampoo bar has done amazing things to my hair and I no longer have greasy hair two days after washing!
Things have been a bit crazy this month, what with the pandemic and everything. In this time my work place has shut its doors to the public, if I weren’t holed up in bed, I would be at work doing a lot of busy work and manning the phones. Here are some of the things I have been enjoying while in self-isolation.
Animal Crossing: New Horizons
The newest Animal Crossing game came out on March 20 and I have been in Animal Crossing heaven since then! It hasn’t been the best of times for me as I have the sniffles so have stayed in bed pretty much each day since March 20, however I have had enough time and wits about me to enjoy the game immensely!
Happy end of February everyone! I’ve decided to step away from the Small Snippet format and try something different for my month wrap up post. Below you’ll see some of my favourites from February from a whole range of different mediums.
So welcome to my favourites of February and enjoy!
Omgosh you guys! The final season was so perfect and amazing. I was watching this show on the edge of my seat as I had absolutely no idea where the story would go. From season one The Good Place has been such a wild ride! I feel in love with the characters and was constantly surprised by the directions taken by the narrative!
The last episode was a doozy and despite my many emotions, I was so happy to see it through. The Good Place has cemented itself as one of my favourite shows out there!
After renewing my Netflix subscription after a hefty amount of time on Stan, the first thing that I watched was the second season of Cupcake & Dino: General Services. I am a big fan of cartoons but this really takes the (cup)cake 😉🧁I love the humour, the characters, the out there storylines but most of all, I love that catchy opening theme song!
If you can, I would really recommenced watching this show! Or at the very least, watch the first episode – you won’t regret it.
2019 was a pretty decent year. Everyone I love is healthy, I have a roof over my head, a permanent job, I went on two amazing holidays, I feel closer to my partner, and I’m in enough of a financially stable position to start looking at house loans.
So as fun as it would be to say that 2019 was a garbage fire, it was actually pretty okay. Don’t get me wrong there were some rough and anger inducing times but I made it though the year without any major meltdowns or upheavals.
So below are some of the things I loved in 2019 and some quick hopes and dreams for 2020.
Recap of 2019
Book Love by Debbie Tung – Filled with relatable comics about loving books and reading, this book was just so wholesome, full of gorgeous art, and it just got me. If have a love for all things reading you should 100% read this book!
Super Fun Sexy Timesby Meredith McClaren – I fell in love with the sex positivity, QUILTBAG inclusion, and effortlessly emotional story telling within this graphic novel. The fact that it is filled with gorgeous art and superheroes made this book one of my favourite reads of the year.
Hottie Scotty & Mr. Porter by R. Cooper – 2019 is the year I fell in love with R. Cooper – they are the Queen of bittersweet angst and I absolutely devoured their back catalogue. Hottie Scotty & Mr Porter was one of the stand outs for me as I keep thinking about it and I already really want to give it a re-read in 2020.
I’m a big fan of Christmas movies but not so much the rinse and repeat story lines and sometimes tripe sentiments that they spew out. Give me a good movie that takes place around the holiday period, I love seeing Christmas being celebrated in the background.
So please enjoy my infographic that I threw together about non traditional Christmas films.
In a hospital on the outskirts of 1920s Los Angeles, an injured stuntman begins to tell a fellow patient, a little girl with a broken arm, a fantastic story of five mythical heroes. Thanks to his fractured state of mind and her vivid imagination, the line between fiction and reality blurs as the tale advances.

I’m changing it up a bit this month, so instead of a book, it’s an amazing movie that I don’t think enough people know about. The Fall is a visually stunning film that blurs the lines between cinema, story, truth, and lies – I absolutely loved this movie and just need to share my love for it.
A new Mash of the Titans has dropped and I am loving it. You may remember me loving the 7th album, and when I found out the release date of the 8th I was so excited! I am pleased to let you know, the 8th is amazing!
I am particularly loving ‘Mama Did Something Bad,’ ‘Dividely,’ ‘Blurred Ice,’ and ‘It’s Gonna Be ME!’ All of the mashup albums are available for free, so there is no reason why you shouldn’t be out there enjoying the music ❤
